We are pleased to invite you to apply for participation in the 8th Annual Dauphin Island Art Trail to be held on Dauphin Island on Sat., October 13, 2018 from 9 AM to 4 PM. If accepted, we will confirm your exact location at the event as we get closer. You are responsible for collecting for the artwork you sell at the event and charging all applicable sales tax (10%). A volunteer for the event will visit you that day with your sales tax forms to complete and send in after you get home. You pay NO fees to your retailer. Your sales are all yours. The size of the booth space is dependent on your location but generally count on having the standard 12’x12′ outdoor area unless you are told otherwise.

As in the past 7 years, there is an element of fun to the event…a sort of “Treasure Hunt” to entice patrons to visit all Art Trail locations. Here’s the plan …. at any Art Trail location, patrons will be able to pick up a Trail Map with the list of artists and locations on the reverse side. We’ll include instructions to patrons to have the Trail Map rubber stamped at all 11 or 12 locations (including your host business) to qualify for prize drawings at the end of the day. The shops will be provided maps and stamps in advance. The drawing, which generally draws a large crowd, will be held at 5 pm.

This event is different from a regular festival and so much more fun for all!! The prizes given in the past have ranged from a waterfront condo weekend package, restaurant & retailer gift certificates, artwork, and much more. Prizes this year should be even better. Please encourage friends & family to come out & enjoy the festivities. We will have a shuttle available for those that don’t want to drive or ride their bicycles. Please note that the artists must be set up and ready no later than 8:30 AM on the day of the event.

REMINDER: ALL ARTISTS ARE CHOSEN BY THE JURY COMMITTEE ON BEHALF OF THE RETAILERS & THEN MUST GET FINAL APPROVAL FROM THE RETAILERS.

THIS APPLICATION IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF ACCEPTANCE. No crafts and no resale items are allowed – the applicants must create the art. Please complete the information below and return the form with your check for $90 before August 25th. After August 25th, the fee is $100. When the show is full, no more applications will be accepted. Please make your check payable to “Dauphin Island Chamber of Commerce”. But remember. acceptance is on a first come basis and space is limited to around 50 artists so get your application in early_._ As a reminder, with most events of this nature, in the event of inclement weather, the booth fees are not refunded.
